The lane
Vicolo del Leopardo is one of the most photographed lanes in Trastevere, and you see why the moment you step outside: laundry strung between the façades, huge pots the residents keep on the steps, a protected colony of cats tourists stop to photograph. Very few cars pass through. Some old Trastevere families still live here, generation after generation — it is not a lane staged for the occasion, it has simply always been this way.
